WHAT NEXT?
Part III of this kit begins with some final thoughts on creating a meaningful legacy of love that connects us as individuals, families, and communities.
Then there are three annotated bibliographies. The contents have been chosen very carefully. I've either read or made use of the resources myself. They have to be good to be included and, in the case of books, they also have to be readily available.
First, there are recommended websites and organizations. There are some sites/organizations appropriate for families, schools, seniors groups/facilities, and community groups. There are also some websites that young and old can visit together.
Then, there are books for parents, grandparents, teachers, care facility staff, and community group leaders. The books cover intergenerational relationships, older adults, mentoring, community, and family.
The third bibliography includes some of the best intergenerational storybooks in print. There are also storybooks on love across generations, Valentine's Day, older adults, mentoring, and community. Many can be used by teachers to support the classroom activities in this kit. A parent or grandparent can also cuddle up and share the books with a child. And don't forget -- picture books can be enjoyed by adults too!
The kit ends with information on the Legacy Project Partners and the project's National Chair.
