PART I

Part I of this kit starts with an overview of the Legacy Project and introduces some of the ideas behind the national project.

The True Story About Love section includes a brief history of Valentine's Day, an exploration of the invention of romantic love, and a look at love across generations -- which some might argue is the closest model we have to real love. There are also some "love lessons" offered based on the strong relationships of couples who have been together for several decades.

The Mentoring and Community Building section explores the role of young and old in building, participating in, and maintaining social groups that sustain and support us as individuals and as a society. An idea for thought: perhaps we need fewer "experts" and "stars" and more mentors.
