HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR STORY

As part of the World Dream Chest, we invite you to share your stories about hopes, dreams, and goals for yourself, others, and our world.
Dreams give us hope and direction. They challenge us to find the very best part of ourselves. We all need dreams, no matter how young or how old. And the world needs more Dreamers, because Dreamers are the ones with the creativity and courage to try new things, overcome obstacles, and make a difference in their own life and the lives of others.
We welcome stories from all ages – whether you're a young person looking ahead, an older adult looking back, or any age in between. Your story can be about:

- A hope, dream, or goal you would like to fulfill – and how you plan to achieve it.
- A special dream you've already fulfilled – and how you did it.
- How your hopes and dreams have changed – and why.
- An inspiring story about someone you know who's working toward a dream or who's making a contribution to your community.

Submitting a story can be a valuable personal exercise for individuals, as well as a great classroom learning experience for students. This is a chance to connect – or perhaps reconnect – with your own dreams and goals. You can learn a lot about yourself when you put pen to paper (or, in this case, fingers to a keyboard!). You can also learn a lot from the stories of others. Selected stories will be posted on this website. Reading the stories of other people offers an opportunity to better understand others. And sharing your story can help others by inspiring them, offering them hope, and giving them ideas about how they can achieve their own dreams.
You may want to get some ideas and inspiration from stories submitted as part of our annual Listen to a Life Essay Contest. Click here to read last year's winning stories.
The story you submit as part of Share Your Story can be any length, though we generally discourage anything under 250 words or over 1,500 words. Once you write your story, submit it to us using the form below. Complete personal and contact information, including age, MUST be provided. Your e-mail address and other information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be given to anyone else. By submitting your story, you agree to allow us to use it. You will be notified if your story is posted on this website or used in any other way. You can submit more than one story.
