Reader's Companion
Reader's Companion

There are two different Reader's Companions available to help you get the most from the story in Something to Remember Me By – a "big people/little people" book which, particularly when read aloud in a group of mixed ages, can be a very effective conversational and educational tool.

The How to Read and Extend a Story Reader's Companion booklet has a literacy emphasis, while the Building Connections Between Young & Old Reader's Companion booklet has an intergenerational emphasis.

The booklets are ideal for reading groups, literacy programs, schools, libraries, universities (used in many elementary education courses), intergenerational programs, and community groups.

Each Reader's Companion booklet includes:

  • Summary of the story in Something to Remember Me By
  • Observation activities with the illustrations
  • Literacy activities with the story text
  • Discussion topics and teachable moments
  • Intergenerational activity ideas
  • An interview with the author and illustrator
  • Recommended related reading and resources.

Note that these booklets pull core information from the Across Generations Activity Kits and present it in a concise format.

Reader's Companions by Susan V. Bosak are available only through the Legacy Project. Use the order form in our catalog.
You can also call 1-800-772-7765 for more information or to place an order.
