Dream

This special offer is for schools and youth groups. For
a limited time, we're offering a discount on quantity purchases of the award-winning bestseller Dream. If you haven't seen the book, you can check it out in the children's section of bookstores across the country, including Barnes & Noble and Chapters/Indigo.

Looking for a new way to inspire both teachers and students? Dream is a popular beginning-of-school read (use the Dream CD for presenting to a group) and many schools use the book as a year-long theme.

Dream has won 11 national awards, including an International Reading Association Children's Choice (10,000 students read and vote on the books they like best) and a Teachers' Choice. It's illustrated by 15 top children's illustrators – from two-time Caldecott Medal winners Leo and Diane Dillon to Hans Christian Andersen Medal winner Robert Ingpen.

Says The Bloomsbury Review, "This elegant book depicts the journey of life – from infancy to older adulthood – highlighting all the hopes and dreams found along the way... Inspirational quotes from people such as Martin Luther King Jr, Sir Edmund Hillary, and Emily Dickinson are set alongside gorgeous illustrations by internationally acclaimed artists. Richly crafted and thoughtfully written, Dream is a dazzling project that challenges us to find a dream and follow it."

Here are some ideas on using Dream:

Dream Theme: In your classroom or entire school, use Dream as a year-long theme. We even offer ideas on choosing your dream theme.

Teacher Gift: Buy a copy of Dream for each teacher in your school as start-of-year inspiration or an end-of-year thank you.

Class Set: Buy a class set of books so that students can engage with Dream on many levels. You can use all the LifeDreams literacy and goal-setting activities with the book and connect to all areas of your curriculum.

Test Prep: Use Dream to motivate students as they prepare for state testing. Buy a book for each class, a class set, or a book for each student. Use Believe, Do, Think as a framework for test preparation. Develop creative connections for the test experience and make it meaningful for students. You can do a school-wide rally using the Dream CD, or use a Dream Discovery school visit to set an inspirational tone.

Book of the Month: Many schools use Dream as a book of the month that all students read and discuss.

Student Graduation Gift: Use Dream as a gift book for students in your graduating class. CM Review describes Dream as "a book you can pin a dream on! A worthy rival to Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Places You'll Go! as a favorite milestone gift book." Says one high school in Virginia,
"Our Gradfest was a huge success! The Dream book was a big hit as a gift for the graduating senior class. We decorated from the book and it was wonderful. Thanks so much! We plan to use the book and theme again next year."
