DREAMS THEN & NOW

How do things change and how do they stay the same?

The idea behind this activity is for
a child or teenager to compare
some of their favorite things and dreams/goals to the favorite things and dreams/goals of an older adult when they were the age of the younger person. In other words, if the child filling out the sheet is 10 years old, the older adult fills in their answers remembering what it was like when they were about 10 years old. How do things change and how do they stay the same?

The Dreams Then & Now comparison sheet offers a series of prompts for each person. It starts by asking what specific dream/goal the person does/did have. The other items relate to feeling inspired to achieve that dream or goal. For example, what is/was the person's favorite, most inspiring color? How much is/was "a lot" of money (which might affect how many resources you need to make a dream a reality)? Write down a few key words under each column for each item.

The most important part of this activity is the memories that are evoked and the stories shared. What does each person learn from and about the other?
